Kitten Availability

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN ACQUIRING ONE OF OUR MAINE COONS...Please
take several minutes to read over the considerations before you pursue
this further:

By now I hope you have seen enough  of this website to understand my feelings andcf.jpe (10104 bytes) ethics about breeding and showing Maine Coons.
I love this breed and my goals are focused on doing the best job I can as a breeder and animal lover.
I really hope to emphasize that buying a kittens is not and should not be like going to the local discount department store and picking up some 'do dads' with your groceries. Kittens are not on shelves here in every color imaginable. In fact we have few kittens each year.
Good breeders live with their cats. They plan their breedings, they spend time with their cats and kittens. They know the personalities, likes and dislikes of their cats.
My waiting lists are sometimes long, but I like to think that it's worth it. Because when you get a Tymack cat, you get a companion that has been loved by myself and my family and has been a part of my home all of it's life.

Ok, so I may have a lot to say, but I hope that anyone who is seriously considering a new family member will appreciate the fact that I want to help them find the 'right' cat and the 'right' breeder.
There are some real jerks out there breeding cats, the kind that give breeders a bad name, and weather you get your new Maine Coon from me or someone else, I hope that it will be a wonderful experience for you, your family and the kitten.
We encourage every kitten buyer to visit several cattery's before making a final decision.

Here you will find an introduction to our questionnaire. The questionnaire is a tool in helping me to get to know you a little better, but also in allowing me to better define what you are seeking so that I can give you the most well informed advise that I can. So when you are ready to inquire about one of our babies, we will both better know what
you are looking for, and how I can help you. This will help me serve you
better and faster. Thanks....

Falling in love with a kitten is easy, and sharing your home and heart with one of them can be one of life's special joys.
Our cats willingly offer unconditional love, acceptance and companionship
~ it has even been confirmed recently in news items that a pet will help
relieve stress, or lower blood-pressure, after a hard day's work!
We are enclosing information to help in your decision.

 We want you to consider:

Is it a good time for you to have a cat?
Are you expecting a significant change in your life in the near future, (besides a new pet), or have had a significant change recently?
Are you planning to move or expecting your first child? Have you had a recent job change that would require you to work unusually long hours or travel away from home frequently?

Maine Coons are very interactive pets. They need to belong to a part of the family, and they crave to be with you and a part of what is going on.
It is true that you may find a breeder who will quickly "package ˜em up, and send ˜em out", WE do not do that here. I want you, and the cat to be happy with each other. I want you to feel confident in the decision you are making, and I offer a "open door policy" to those who do join the Tymack Cattery family. IF you EVER have any questions or concerns I encourage you to contact me. IF I can not answer them myself, I will do my best to help you find some one who can. We prefer to make sure you are getting a Maine Coon of ours for all the right reasons. Our cats are future family members.
CH Tymack SabrinaWhy do you want a cat? If it is an "impulse" desire issue which is brought on from the desire the have a kitten, or a pet that is lower maintenance that a dog, please think again. This kitten will become a cat, and they do require lots of love and interaction. Considering that our cat may be with you for as many as fifteen to twenty years, there must be a considerable personal commitment involved.

Do you have time for a cat? I recommend that pet owners spend a MINIMUM 30 minutes a day directly grooming and or playing with your cat. This does not include letting the cat play with your foot while you finish paying the bills. I am indicating focus, interactive play, and or grooming. It is very important for the mental health of your cat, and helps create the life long bond that is such a treasure to have. IN addition they require food, water, care, and companionship every day, for every year of their lives.
Can you properly care for a cat who is dependent on you for everything?
Tymack Aroura

Can you afford a cat? Now this may seem like an irrelevant question, but it is an important question you should ask yourself. Beyond the purchase price of a cat, the costs of pet ownership can add up.
You must spay/neuter your Tymack pet quality kitten, as per our sales contract, by 8 months of age, and you must take your cat to the veterinarian at least once per year for a regular check-up and appropriate booster shot(s). Beyond that, cat food, kitty litter, toys, and regular dental check-ups are all necessities which cost additional money.

Tymack "Oh you silly Goose!" a.k.a. GooseCan you have a cat where you live? Some rental properties do not allow any pets, and many have other restrictions. Have you assured that your landlords allow cats? Are you living in your permanent residence, or is there a chance you may be moving to a not so pet friendly situation? What sacrifices are you willing to make if necessary? Do you know who will care for your cat while you are away on visits or vacations? You will need a reliable friend, neighbor, or pet-sitter to stop in at least once a day to feed your cat and give him some personal attention and play-time. Not to mention someone who is willing to do Litter Box Duty.
Will you be a responsible cat owner? You must have your cat spayed/neutered, obey your local licensing and vaccination laws, keep him safely indoors at all times, and give him plenty of love, companionship, a healthy diet, and regular veterinary care and in general follow the contract which will be signed.

Are you prepared to keep and care for your cat for his entire life? When you "adopt" a kitten, you are making a commitment to care for him *for his lifetime*. We Americans are, as a whole, known as a "throw-away society" ~ realize that we are not agreement that our cats might end their lives as a "throwaway" item, and that we will only sell our "babies" to people who have agreed to meet all of our above criteria.

We consider ourselves to be responsible breeders, and believe a large part of that depends on thoroughly acquainting prospective kitten owners with the various involvement in owning a cat. We are aware that because some breeders and pet shops sell baby animals to anyone with the ready cash, these animals often end their lives in animal shelters or sometimes in an undesirable breeding situation. Often the reason WHY hinges on the questions put forth above.

We do not want OUR Maine Coons to end their lives in such a manner. We want them to be curled up in a warm bed with a loving owner, and if they become ill, or when they get old, we want them to be living with responsible people who are going to take care of them, to the best of their abilities, "until death do them part".

If THAT is the sort of person you feel YOU are, then we can proceed with telling you what kittens or cats we may have available for you.

So, please fill out the form below, telling us what you are looking for. A special thanks to Alta Bella Cattery for allowing us to use their questionnaire as an outline for ours..

Thank You for Your Time and Patience.
